Understanding aged care provider requirements
Under the current regulatory model, providers register in one or more of six aged care registration categories based on the services they intend to deliver. Support at Home services can fall across Categories 1 to 5, while residential aged care is covered by Category 6.
The requirements then differ by category and service model. Providers in Categories 4 to 6 are subject to the applicable Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, while Support at Home providers also need to meet program-specific obligations covering participants, reporting, workforce, incidents and service delivery. Support at Home provider responsibilities provide further guidance on these requirements.
HCPA helps providers understand which requirements apply to their chosen services and how those obligations affect registration, ongoing operations and future growth.
Why aged care providers choose HCPA
Aged care businesses need to make regulatory, operational and commercial decisions that often affect one another. HCPA helps providers consider these together from the outset.
Advice based on your registration category and service model
Support at Home and residential aged care operate very differently. HCPA considers your services, registration categories, workforce, operating model and business goals when determining the right pathway.
Systems built for ongoing aged care obligations
Registration is only one stage. HCPA considers the records, reporting, compliance calendars and operational systems providers need to maintain their obligations after approval.
Commercial decisions considered alongside compliance
Entering a new service, adding capacity or changing the way care is delivered can create new operational and regulatory requirements. HCPA helps providers understand these implications before making the move.
Support through aged care reform
The aged care sector has undergone significant regulatory reform, and providers need systems that can adapt as requirements continue to evolve. HCPA helps businesses understand what changes mean for their registration and operations.
HCPA guarantees
From entering the market to securing your first client, eligible HCPA services are backed by guarantees designed to give you greater confidence at key stages of the journey.
Compliance Guarantee
